Recording Information

ALEC RICHMOND (Vocals) practiced law for 37 years but, through most of that time, his real fun was acting with The London Little Theatre and later, hosting a public affairs show on CFPL-TV. After retiring from law in 1985, he appeared in a series of instructive films for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. On the original Board of London Musical Theater, he functioned as a show producer, program writer/editor, fund raiser, and probably, a bottle washer. Since 1990 he has been introducing Classic movies on Saturday nights on WQLN, the PBS television station in Erie Pennsylvania.

MARGARET STOWE (Guitar) is a highly popular musician around London and is regarded as one of the city's finest jazz guitarists. Strictly a true professional with a constantly busy schedule of "gigs", Margaret admits that music is her living ...and music is her life.

MITCHELL TYLER (Electric Bass) is an Honours Bachelor of Music graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has been a professional musician since 1987. As a freelance bass/vocalist, he has done much theater, symphony and session work in addition to being a regular club player and music copier/arranger.

GLENN PARSONS (Piano) earned his degree in music at the University of Western Ontario and then continued his piano studies in Toronto. His interest in pop and jazz has brought his playing into many settings. Glenn freelances and has a private teaching practice in his home town, London.

JEFF CHRISTMAS (Drums) is regarded by his fellow musicians, and by his audiences, as one of the finest drummers in home-town London, Canada. He is involved in musical theater, plays with the local symphony orchestra from time to time, and further, he composes and arranges.

IAN ROBINSON (Saxophone), featured on this recording, is a true veteran musician. Ian has now been playing sax for longer than he's willing to specify. Very well known in London as a smooth, straight-ahead sax player, he admits that performing is in the Robinson blood. His daughter Laura is an accomplished actress and singer; his son, Chris, a recognized and popular saxophonist; and his grandson, Andrew, still in high school, a gifted clarinetist. Oh yes, his wife, Margaret, is an author. Ian loves to play pretty ballads ...well, just listen!

MUCH THANKS to Mitchell Tyler and Margaret Stowe for their suggestions, encouragement, patience ...and for their exceptional musical talent; to Paul Venesoen for his expertise in recording these songs; to Ian Robinson for his wise counsel, support and smooth sounds; to Syl Basacco for having Marg, Mitch and myself perform together in his beautiful (and best) ristorante in London, "La Casa"; to joy, my wife, for suffering through my "bathroom singing" through all those many years; and to Marg, Mitch, Ian, Glenn and Jeff for their great jazz.
