Penn Kemp presents her Lit.-on-Air show, Gathering Voices: interviews, sound operas, writing exercises, poems in translation.  The show will be blogged on https://www.facebook.com/groups/3992303404/.

Penn is the newest Life Member of the League of Canadian Poets. She also received the Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee medal from NDP MP Irene Mathyssen for service to arts and culture. As inaugural Poet Laureate for the City of London ON (2010-12), she presented poetry at many civic functions.  Since 1966, Penn has taught creative writing and sounding in Canadian schools, from Kindergarten to University, serving as Western's writer-in-residence from 2009-10. Penn has published twenty-five books of poetry and drama, had six plays and ten CDs produced as well as several award-winning videopoems News is up on http://www.mytown.ca/pennletters/. Sound Opera is a new form Penn developed in performance and recording with collaborators in a desire to lift poetry off the page to the stage. Sound Opera is based on text but it expands poetic possibilities to include voice, music and computer manipulation to express narrative when emotions burst the seams of print.
